A book about an endangered, but magnificent habitat which is directly relevant to all of us. Everyone knows something about the forest, its trees, its living conditions, the threat it is facing and its history. And even though we humans know how vitally important the forests are for us human beings as well, it is very often the case that we do not look after it in the way that is so vitally necessary. Every human being has his or her personal image of the forest, an image comprising fascination, experience and myths. In the book of the same name, PRO FUTURA intends to make this image larger and more varied by highlighting many different facets. The reader is invited to go on a very special walk, a walk in one of our most diverse habitats. In doing so, PRO FUTURA is continuing a tradition, because it was in 1984 that the collaboration with the World Wide Fund for Nature, WWF, began with the very first book, UNSER WALD SOLL LEBEN (Let our forests live).
