Bewegung [Motion]
Basis allen Lebens (Basis of all life)
Nature cannot stand still. Everything is in constant motion, from the atom to the planets, from the amoeba to the whale. Only what is in motion is alive. Even what may at first seem to be motionless can in reality be in a state of utmost agitation.
Motion is the very essence of Nature - we see it in animals, the stars, clouds, even plants: the sunflower turns to face the sun, the roots are drawn towards water, the leaves towards light. And movement is also a central feature of human life, of course, when they work, engage in sport, dance, and act as social creatures.
In this way, the book spans such a wide range that it takes us by surprise, provides information and also sets us thinking. It demonstrates the multifaceted nature of life – the book asks about the why and seeks answers.
