These books are unique works of Nature and landscape photography. The well-researched, absorbing texts are written by natural scientists and specialist journalists. The fascinating photographic material is provided by the best photographers. The typographic design meets the highest standards.
Since 1984, one volume in this series has appeared each year, published by PRO FUTURA in co-operation with WWF (World Wide Fund for Nature) as an “Official WWF Documentation”.
The aim of the illustrated volumes is to demonstrate the beauty and splendour of Nature by means of unique photographs, to raise the readers’ spirits without ignoring the alarming reality, to fill them with enthusiasm without glossing over the dangers.
The “WWF Section” in each book provides information on WWF’s goals, tasks and programme, and also introduces exemplary nature conservation projects in Germany and abroad. It is the objective of WWF to use these illustrated volumes to reach the relevant decision-makers in industry, associations and authorities in order to spread the message on how to ‘help people to help themselves’ world-wide. Each title is an independent volume.
The different design versions
The documentations are available in four different design versions, and the standard edition is also available in English and French.
